I saw it up the Plaza on North Rd. There was a display of Zulu shields and weaponry in the entrance, if I remember correctly.Originally Posted by Llanedeyrnblue wrote on Thu, 15 January 2015 14:14
I saw it in Newport Odeon.
Theatre Royal in Barry for me,when you could actually go to a cinema in Barry.
So the film's not an accurate account then?Originally Posted by Fatty Føggøn wrote on Thu, 15 January 2015 13:35
Unfortunately there were only 15% of Welsh soldiers involved. Most from the 2nd Batallion 24th Warwickshire Regiment of Foot.
This did 2 years later become the South Wales Borderers as the 24th had their Garrison in Brecon.

Cedric claims that he was there.
I'm pretty sure it was higher than 15% mick. Most of the 2nd 24th were recruited from powys and Salop. It's not the almost entirely welsh regiment portrayed in the film thoughOriginally Posted by Mick the Miller wrote on Thu, 15 January 2015 14:35
A good book worth a read is rourkes drift by Adrian greaves. It sets the tone for the battle very well explaining the politics invloved and the wider Zulu war.
