Not so thinly veiled 'I didnt get an invite'

Tan isn't even showing up himself. Allowing this meeting will solve nothing, cancelling it or not turning up will get the point further across.
Forgive me if I'm being brash, but surely we'd have learnt by now that he doesn't care what we or the trust thinks.

I agree with you - yet again displaying his contempt for the fans.
Even if I did, the idea of driving 50 miles to see people wasting their time repeating rebrand arguments falling on deaf ears doesn't appeal to me!Originally Posted by Cathaze Blue wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:11
I kind of agree. To me it all smacks of a publicity stunt. Anyone who doesn't know why the fans are pissed off must've been living on another planet for the last couple of seasons. To my mind, the club saw the attendance on Friday and are afraid that ST renewal letters will prove to be as popular as a Colchester ticket.
IF the club genuinely give a shit about us customers, which I seriously doubt, then let us know what's on the table for negotiation, if a return to blue remains a non-starter as it was on Christmas Day, then tell them to shove their meeting where the sun don't shine,
'The club never listens to the fans'. ...
Few of us here 'trust' VT now, but lets see what this is all about eh ?.
Christ we have some whining ... .
Whine after the event if it turns out to be bollux or a stunt or whatever ??
Ok, so when did the club last listen to the fans and act on it?Originally Posted by VimanaMan wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:20
My own opinion this is the gateway that tan is looking for to start the process

A carrot will be dangled - i.e. if you renew for next season the club will 'look into returning to blue next season'.Originally Posted by VimanaMan wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:20
Colors restored. Badge returned. Unconditional.Originally Posted by saganspirit wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:39
I agree - good luck.Originally Posted by VimanaMan wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:48
It's not a meeting, and Tan was never going to go to it.
It is, ostensibly, a forum for the clubs execs to listen to what the fans have to say about their view of the mess the club finds itself in. It is not designed to achieve any concrete action. That's just not possible with that many people in the room, none of whom has any real authority to make the only change that actually matters.
The cynic in me says it is the club trying to nip this in the bud, when they hopelessly fail to realise that it is way beyond "bud" stage already. Either that, or they know full well that it's beyond saving now and this is the start of the end game.
For what it's worth, I was actually hoping that Baker got an invite. I doubt anybody has posted as frequently as he has over the last 7 or 8 years. He's been a constant on here for ages now (between bans), and is as big a messageboard personality as anyone. His serious posts are normally pretty decent, as are his football ones. Plus it would have been quite funny if ***** asked him to explain that video he did a few years ago.
I'm sure on the other board it was mentioned Gwyn Davies was invited is that to keep order ?
We have to go and listen to what is to be said but being a cynic I think it is a ploy where false promises will be made so people will renew their season tickets and when the time comes nothing will have changed, having said that I really hope I am wrong.
This has the opportunity to massively backfire on the club. But see what they have to say and judge on outcomes.Originally Posted by saganspirit wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:39
Idea is good, however, those attending all go with their own agenda's, lot of ego 's , can't really see there being any progress, but hope I am wrong.
Not much to suggest that some dialogue is at last needed with the fanbase, though I find it hard to believe that VT is prepared to put his nose out of joint.Originally Posted by VimanaMan wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 00:25
Thats a really good point actually. If this is the case we have to make them make the first move before the renew.Originally Posted by ninian200 wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 07:43
What the club or Tan intend to say at this meeting is not so important. The critical factor here is that the supporters reps go in to the meeting with a United front. That's not going to happen. Mgt know that if they invite 40 it's never going to be a negotiation. It will be noting more than a propaganda meeting. This is a classic mgt strategy all over the world. Representatives should be no more than 5-7 with a complete agreement on purpose of meeting and desired outcomes, key discussion points etc. 40 =talkfest.
This suits mgt as they will be able to say later, "well we called a meeting but you lot couldn't even decide among yourselves what you wanted"
The fans should meet beforehand and elect a spokesperson to make an initial statement:
It is progress that the clubs accepts the current status is unacceptable and that the rebrand has caused the current discontent amongst the fanbase. With that in mind can the club confirm it wishes for all to pull in the same direction and as a first step confirmation will be given that we will return to our traditional colours and emblem next season?
Depending on the answer should lead to everyone staying or a mass walkout. Make it clear there is only one item on theagenda. Until that is resolved there can be no negotiation.
My speaker would be TLG
some of them wont miss this meeting for the world
a good chance to get tanked up in the pub and go along for a good old ear bashing
Yeah, there has to be some organisation. The club have picked a group of people who they know are opinionated and hope that they'll talk over each other until Dalman's next appointment is due and he has to go. Meeting over, we didn't get anywhere, see you in 2018.Originally Posted by Feedback wrote on Tue, 06 January 2015 09:22
