As an old fart myself, the book reminded me how good footie was back then, and how it was cheap entertainment for the working class.
I really enjoyed this, and it was cheap on-line, too.
I had a former team-mate/manager who played with Best for NI. I was in awe of his skills, even though his football days were winding down. It allowed me to see exactly what it took to be a top pro, and that sadly I would never make it to that level. I'll always remember our little chats, and he described Best as being on another level all by himself, "absolutely phenomenal" were his words. I cried into my beer
