how did leon jeanne get in there before Adrian Alston?
Indeed. Alston had more natural talent than any striker I've seen with us. I can see that Tucker concentrated on players from the modern era but by including Hughie Ferguson those from earlier times come into the equation. Someone mentioned Peter King's credentials for playing for England but the one player in our history who stands out above all others in being neglected by the selectors across Offa's Dyke is another member of that cup winning team - the great Billy Hardy. And my late father would never have forgiven me if I didn't also mention Dougie Blair.Originally Posted by Joe Gillis wrote on Tue, 13 January 2015 21:54
Quality player, I always remember chuckling though when seeing the headline of 'Fowler signs for City' on the Echo standsOriginally Posted by Father Dougal wrote on Tue, 13 January 2015 20:28
I would imagine its the greatest welshman ever to play the game big John

Can't really comment on players before my time, but, out of those I have seen, here's my top ten in no particular order and having not given much thought to the matter;-
Ivor Allchurch, John Charles, Barrie Jones, Ian Gibson, Dave Bennett, Alan Curtis, Jason Koumas, Peter Whittingham, Jay Bothroyd and Aaron Ramsey.
I didn't pick any defenders besides John Charles because they shouldn't be in any most naturally talented lists, but Brian Harris, Danny Gabbidon and Tony Vidmar always struck me as being very good footballers.
Of the players i've seen live, it has to be Dave Bennett.

I always liked Jason Bowen, and What about rats?
Jason Bowen not in there and Andy Legg is
Leggy was more of a legend no doubt but that was down to his desire and application than natural talent.
In my time following the city it has to be Wille Anderson.

Another guy way back who was talented was Mike Tiddy-anybody else remember him!!
