    Re: Gunnar to Burnley?

If Burnley go for and get Dorrans and we are left with Gunnarson i will be gutted. Dorrans does well in the Premier League but at Championship level would be up there near the likes of Parker for influence.

Id like Dorrans thats for sure.

If there is any truth at all and Slade lets Gunnarson go it will be the first time i have felt positive in a long time.

It seems Slade is giving up on the idea of Whittingham as a partner in a 2 man midfield, having looked at other options. If he brings a replacement in for Gunnarson who can do the following basic things that seem lost on Gunny i will be delighted

    Run with the ball
Pass the ball to team mate
Tackle win and hold the ball
Slow or speed up the game
    Track runners
    Protect his defence

All these are out of Gunnarsons reach sadly but my oh my what a long throw.

I dont think so Rodge. I thought he did a job for us even with his 50p head .

    Re: Gunnar to Burnley?

In our Champioship winning season, Malky dropped Whittingham and our main midfield threat came from Gunnarsson, Kimbo and Jordan Mutch, I was convinced that Gunnarsson was going to grow into a midfield general and become our captain. Sadly I was wrong.
I don't know if his confidence took a seemingly unrecoverable blow in the higher league, or if he'd simply peaked two seasons ago.

Wouldn't miss him so much these days, but would like to say thanks, now time to move on.

If we sold him 2 years ago and then he went there most on this board would be up in arms because we didn't keep him like the Rudy thread.

    Re: Gunnar to Burnley?

I thought he was our best player last Sat, and I was sober. The only time we really looked like scoring was from his long throws. Unless we can get someone better in, which is doubtful on the sort of money we've been spending, then I'd hold onto him for now.

Don't sign the defenders or goalie though.

Happy to see him go. He has just been going through the motions this season. I would prefer Adeyemi and Ralls in CM over Gunners and Whitts any day. Gunners going might see Whitts (i am not a fan of him at present) being utilised in a more appropraite role.

This new midfielder we have on trial looks the business very strong .and athletic might be the box to box midfielder.

If he went, how would City ever get the ball into the opposition box
