    Steve Borley Q&A

    Re: Steve Borley Q&A

Would have helped to have different coloured text (not red and blue) for questions and answers so it was clearer, at points it gets a bit confusing. Cheers for posting though

"We are working to reduce costs to get our cost base back to a situation we are less reliant on the owner."

Shame about the last two and a half years then.

"I would advocate getting more ex players involved but that is easier said than done as many move back to their hometowns when they retire."

He didn't seem to answer about a football identity, only focussing on getting ex-players involved. As Barca have shown that can and cannot be the answer.

Football has moved on and this is a fairly recent phenomenon (at least in this country) but i cannot remember a time where i thought we had any long term on-field strategy and it always seems to be just about the next game for us whereas teams like Southampton, Brentford, Bournemouth seem to have a system that has a more long term vision.

I can only speak for myself and say that i am happy to copy links from this and any other forum and give credit to whoever put the work in but on there they have questionable morals as we all know and decide to take the credit for someone elses work!

Therefore, while the seniors are playing the very direct brand of football that we've seen in the past three months, the players below that level are not suited to it and this has to make it harder for them to break into the first team squad.
