Who's responsibility for the upkeep of drains in your garden. I recently had a blockage in the manhole in my garden, I managed to clear it easily but I noticed that the brickwork inside is crumbling and could fall in.
Is it my problem or the water company the council or who?
Yours I think. Outside your boundary it's the council unless it's a council property?
It's yours if you are the only property connected to it. Once another property connects it becomes a sewer from that point and the responsibility of the relevant authority.
This was certainly the position regarding our drains, which run under the house but also pickup the house next door. Cardiff Council paid for work that needed doing
