Richest 1% to own more than rest of world

Wouldn't the richest 1% of people include 70,000,000 people....in that case I'd expect the 70,000,000 to own about that...I imagine quite a few on here are within the richest 1% in the world.

This is what I was thinking, do you know how much wealth you need to have to be in the top 1% globally?

According to this £600,000 in wealth. Or an income over £25k put you in the top 1% of earners.

It's still all relative. Every country will have it's top 1% and they will all become richer at the expense of the 99% in each individual country.

And 2m only buys a small house for a billionaire... relatively. Relatively being relative stands for nothing other than trying to suit an agenda.

Also prices are different in every country. £200k buys you an average house in the UK, whereas elsewhere £30k may buy you something better.

I think the moral of the story in that Oxfam report is that the system is bent and controlled by a bunch of crooks

This pointless back and forth where both sides abuse the power of statistical analysis just trivilises the fact that there is a problem. Hundreds of millions of people in the world don't have enough to eat or drink whilst there are people who 'hold' more wealth than they or their entire bloodline could spend in a thousand years.

I've dined out abroad for 50p and had a lovely meal, while in the UK you will struggle to buy a tin of beans for that

For me the best solution is to stop working for FTSE 100 companies and the like and start working for yourself. If you ever read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" you will see that big companies will always try to keep wages down, its in their blood to make as much money as possible. So if you work for a large company expect to be taken advantage of, expect low wages, low pay increases. People need to realise this, instead they are suckered into believing that working your ass off for a FTSE 100 company is "security". Its not, its a guarantee for being taken advantage of.
