As a spectator at any football match which is the best individual pwrformance you have ever witnessed .
The most commanding,influential, skilful and domineering for myself has to be Antonio Rattin for Argentina against West Germany World Cup group stage at Villa Park ,16 july 1966.
He dominated the game from start to finish, playing centre back he had Seeler,Held Emmerich and Haller in his pocket all match long.
Due to his massive contribution and control of the game Argentina held the eventual tournament runners up to a nil nil draw.
Attack minded players will dominate this thread, so i'm going to give a mention to the great Franco Baresi, not one particular game, but hundreds of them. The man was an absolute genius at seeing how a move would pan out, and almost always put himself in the correct position to defend. Genius! A special mention also for Andrea Pirlo, there's vision and then there's Pirlo-the man could hit a blade of grass!
0-0 in a group match. The best performance ever. Really?
In City games you would have to include Craig Noone's at Man City last season.
The best I ever saw was Matt Le Tissier at Ninian Park when he scored a hatrick - he had a standing ovation from all sides of the ground at the end.
Yeah that Le Tissier performance was incredible.
Gareth Bale against Inter would be my most recent one.

Much as I hate to say it, Beckham was incredible against Greece in 2001, the game where he scored the last minute free kick that took England to the World Cup.
He actually missed a few free kicks that day but he was absolutely everywhere for the whole game.
Roy Keane against Juventus, Steven Gerrard West ham cup final, as mentioned already Bale v Inter Milan. Probably loads of others that I can't remember.
Good call. That was the game he was booked and knew he'd be out of the final but stepped up a gear to make sure he'd done all he could.

I suppose unless you were there that night it must be difficult to comprehend what a stupendous performance it was.
