Thread: Question time

    Question time

Shame on the increasingly tabloid-esque BBC for allowing such a biased attack on George Galloway.

    Re: Question time

    He wasn't bullied though

What a speaker, I don't agree with all his views but the fact remains attacks on Islamic places of worship are far far greater in number then the attacks on Jewish ones

Some of the audience were baying Zionists , the very people George Galloway so aptly describes

His killer blow was attacking those who say they want free speech as long as it agrees with their viewpoint

What a loss to the labour movement

Never seen such a loaded audience on there, bit of a disgrace really. On a separate point thought tristram hunt was pathetic.

Attack??? A load of gobby audience members that no one could understand.

He'd have lapped it up, I bet if you'd asked him he'd have not wanted it any other way.

    Re: Question time

I wonder if Question Time type debates would work in a pub environment, as a sort of replacement for the stale quiz nights?

    Re: Question time

I was a member of Respect when they were formed, and Galloway was an influence on me.

I don't agree with much of what he says nowadays (nor much of what I said 10-15 years ago for that matter). His comments on creating an 'Israel free zone' in Bradford were appalling really.

That said, I admire his ability to speak his mind and he is a superb orator and absolutely must be listened to.

I would vote labour if he was in the higher realms of the party

    He would leather the Tories

I think ed milliband is a decent fella but he's too wet

You need someone with bollocks to stick it up bully boy Cameron

    Dennis Skinner, George Galloway etc

He wouldn't last 5 minutes in Labour nowadays. Ironically enough, the party he'd last longest in would be UKIP.

    Re: Question time

I missed QT tonight but it sounds as if Galloway was more than able to look after himself.

As others have said, he is a superb orator and his destruction of the kangaroo court set up to defame him in the US a decade ago was one of the greatest examples of courage in the face of the establishment that I've ever seen. He destroyed his opponents that day. If you haven't already seen it it's on youtube somewhere.

On the flip side, GG is clearly a vain man and occasionally contradicts himself, but on the whole he speaks a large amount of sense. He's certainly a welcome antidote to most of the limp nonentities that fill the corridors of Westminster currently.

    Re: Question time

It was less question time and more a football derby the way those 3/4 members of the audience were going for him.
