Thread: Go on Ed get stuck into him

  1. #26

Re: Has Milliband repeated the accusations outside Parliament yet ?

Ed overlooked the fact that it was his Party who introduced the Regs that allowed these pele to use these schemes and in fact when names were published there were members and supporters of his Party in the list. Whoops should have done his homework.

Re: Has Milliband repeated the accusations outside Parliament yet ?

So Red Ed has had a good day. However, I note he modified his remarks by saying he was not calling Fink dodgy as he implied yesterday.

Ed has had a couple of recent shockers though especially when he realised his policy of freezing energy prices would have fixed prices at a the peak of the market. And of course he also came a cropper when he criticised the Tories for privatising the NHS when it was confirmed that Labour privatised services at more than twice the rate of the Tories in the last 5 years of the Blair/Brown government.

So Ed gets 8/10 for name calling and 0/10 for his other gaffs.

Turn on radio 5 now and its creating great debate, its all coming out ,so well done Ed 10/10 for creating the debate, something Farage is always banging on about , he said today that politicians don't say what voters think , so perhaps some credit is due on this one .

Just listened to it - he bottled it - called him guilty of tax avoidance - which is NOT illegal and done by anyone who has a pension, invests in shares as part of a salary, who put smoney into an ISA or anything else that incurs tax relief.

Yeah such an achievement that we have a sh*tty welsh government that takes money from front line services and into the pockets of failed career politicians

He like many other rich people were up to all manner of things , still makes it a brave shout by Miliband as he knows this point well. Put up or shut up init , you should consider the same question which is being asked of Cameron on this subject , the silence is deafening in the Oxfordshire life
I dont recall big ed spouting off about tax avoiders during his 3 years in the cabinet.

"Ed Miliband is not perfect, however he is the best fit for Welsh people who have proud socialist roots and achievements."

Gawd help us! The Welsh people need and deserve more than this bumbling incompetent. I can't believe anyone in his right mind could cast a vote for such a sad tw@t as Millipede and his economically illiterate henchman, Balls.

The trouble with socialism is that you end up running out of other people's money.

Milliband and Balls would be a total and utter disaster for the country.

Think it may well be a thumbs down at the ballot box for the "" only Tory man in the village"" , the heat is on

After all these posts today, you watch Panorama tonight , how could Stephen Green get a Tory peerage unbelievable , how many more poor appointments will we see like this and Andy Coulson , Fiona Woolf , Butler-Sloss to name a few , how could anyone want to vote for this lot is beyond me , it has a stench that seems acceptable to some. I'm sure Labour is not squeaky clean, but its cleaner than most, and has a social and tolerant heart for ordinary people , its not just about looking after the top end earners or looking to drop their tax burden , do we remember the 50p to 45p drop in tax ,whilst implementing on the poor with a bedroom tax ,and freeing up many London properties ,farcical .

It seems that Red Ed is a tax avoider as well. Today's papers reveal that a legal tax loophole was used to reduce the amount of tax payable on a house he inherited from his father. What a chump!

My tax avoidance through the use of a Government backed programme is but the tiniest drop in the ocean and I strongly believe that there isn't really the political will there from any of the major parties to do something about the large scale avoidance that is prevalent among the "haves" of this world.

Re: Go on Ed get stuck into him

The sad thing is that Ed could not anticipate that his own tax affairs would be scrutinised by making such a big thing about tax avoidance. Surely a future Prime Minister ought to be able to anticipate this but he has failed to foresee the consequence of his accusations.

Ed knows full well that Governments for many years have been closing tax loopholes but as soon as one is closed another opens. His own government's record was not that great in this respect but the real problem is that the major accountancy firms employ people who are far cleverer than their counterparts in HMRC. And of course it is becoming obvious that Ed is scratching around for subjects to criticise the government but, when the economy is on the up, he has to resort to individual issues rather than major policies to score political points. Once again he has failed.

Although I'm sure everyone who saw pannoramma and heard the debate in the commons over Hsbc knows what the debate was about really.

You're missing the point, the debate in the commons was about HSBC using loopholes for extremely wealthy clients to aggressively avoid paying their fair share of tax. The people George Osbourne finds "morally repugnant"
The session in PMQs started off with a question about HSBC but it was Miliband who specifically raised the question of "dodgy donors". Poor old Ed has scored another own goal.
