Does anyone know anything about port forwarding on a router?

It's a bit of a long shot, I control my heating from my mobile phone. But I've just got a new router and I cant fully control my heating from my phone anymore.

I can control my heating over wifi, but not over 3G and 4G. I think I need something done to my router. When I bought my wifi thermostat the company set it up for me remotely, but they're not offering this service anymore.

Is there anyone who can help please?

Who you with, whats your router?

type in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar, login and see if you can figure out the port forwarding yourself, theres enough resources online to guide you through.

Is it actually port forwarding that you want to apply? - or just opening up the ports to allow traffic through - on specific ports?

I work unusual hours, and often get home all hours of the day, so when I'm about 20 minutes away from home I turn my heating on so it's nice and warm when I get in.

If you want advice about passing on a rotter in a port best speak to Sludge.
