Some terrific films mentioned.
However, I have to agree with Bluetit in that the Ealing comedies were masterpieces of their time and still stand up to modern scrutiny.
Lavender Hill Mob or Passport to Pimlico are my personal favourites.
Of the more recent films surprised that Layer Cake does not get a mention but Long Good Friday is a terrific film.
Top three for me:
Trainspotting
Life of Brian
Clockwork Orange
Submarine
A Clockwork Orange
The Long Good Friday
Sink the Bismark
Naked is a fantastic Mike Leigh film.
David Thewlis is brilliant in it.
Wasn't it about the death of one of the Flintstones?Originally Posted by Taunton Blue Genie wrote on Fri, 27 February 2015 17:33
