However he looks slow off the mark, both physically and mentally. If he was a stone lighter and a second faster, he would be a top striker.

The problem is - he has never showed signs of that before, or much else - so maybe it's his attitude that needs tweaking rather than his football skills

Perhaps it was Vincent Tan's 'shoot on sight' advice that tweaked a few attitudes last night. What other explanation?

^ This, the keeper should be dealing with that better. Very good technique but nothing out of the ordinary for a professional footballer to achieve given the time and space he's got.

I did mention I thought the keeper was caught out by it as well.

It is a good finish dont get me wrong, but i'm not getting overly excited about it. Gunnarson's goal last week was better IMO.

If he didn't mean it, what do you think he was going for?

Volleying like that (over the shoulder) is a difficult skill. Admittedly there was no-one pressuring him but to find the corner with the pace and to keep it that low is a class finish.
