2003-2004 had the excitement factor of being the first year back in the second tier so it wasnt as boring as this season.

Yeah that's correct, i think your answer is the right one its just the seasons are mixed up.

It was the season of the "I saw Ronnie Moore" score badges and we managed just forty one of them in forty two games while conceding only seven more. The team were called things like "dour" and "mediocre", but as this happened during an era where virtually every season was a relegation fight, nobody seemed to bothered - in fact a fifteenth place finish was considered something of a success!

So its probably at least ten years. We probably have fans in their late teens or twenties who have never experienced a season like this.

I can't remember the last season where Cardiff effectively had nothing to play for at this stage, although there have been a few seasons where it has felt that way. 2005/06 is a good example (the first season under Dave Jones). With 35 games played, the team was only 3 points off a play-off spot, but a mid-table finish was all-but guaranteed.
