He's got good skills and delivers a decent ball, but I don't think that his pace is that great at all.
Maybe Slade thinks he'd develop better if he were playing regularly.
John needs to play to develop.
Every winger/full back we have is ahead of him at the moment.

This. He was thrown in the deep end in the Premier League in his first professional season and our supporters expect him to be world class. Give the boy a chance.No great loss.
I wondered what was going on, he wasn't in the U21 team the other night. He seems to have gone backwards and only ever played in a struggling side. Decent coaching is the answer as he obviously has talent.
Perhaps Barnsley can tell us once and for all whether he's a full-back or winger.
