Satellite internet

For areas where you can't get good internet.

I did make a post before but can't seem to find it now - perhaps it was lost to the last 'cull' or perhaps it's just too early on a Saturday morning.

I'm looking into it for my Mum who lives too far from the local exchange and in an area where Superfast Cymru aren't going to serve for quite some time. She currently gets a maximum of 0.5mb on a good day.

Does anyone use this or know anyone that they can recommend?

There was a community satellite broadband system in Gower. It was reasonably priced and did a good job, but because of the delay (long ping times) its no good for Skype, VOIP or gaming ETC, where you need a quick response. Otherwise worth a try maybe.
