They had a rare open weekend at Island Farm and opened the 'infamous' hut 9 to the public. Really interesting and a fantastic piece of our modern history, such a shame the controlling group are self funded. I can remember going in to Island Farm over 20 years ago and seeing all the old etchings on the wall, before the bloody vandals got in and started ruining it. Anyone else go ?

I must say i find it hard to forgive and forget I hate germans they are the most arrogant people I have ever met.Originally Posted by Mrs Steve R wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:02
I haven't met many so I wouldn't know.Originally Posted by insider wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:06
How many do you know very well?I ask because I lived there for 7 years and have many German friends who are lovely people.I think you are making an ill informed generalisation!!Originally Posted by insider wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:06
I've met a few and none of them were arrogant. It's the only country in Europe that I'd choose to live apart from here.Originally Posted by insider wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:06
I've met a few, and most, but not all, are arrogant.Originally Posted by saganspirit wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:21
I grew up in Germany and part of my family still lives there. I visit regularly and love the place. But, yeah, you do come across plenty of people that are a bit up their own arses.Originally Posted by bobh wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 20:39

Good poster, insider. My guess is he was being a little 'playful'. Back to your OP, I know little about the place but it sounds well worth a visit.Originally Posted by Peajay wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 21:00
Sorry only speaking how I feel. If you want to lay the blame on me for people tarring all city fans with the same brush crack on I wont lose any sleep.Originally Posted by Peajay wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 21:00
Maybe, or I'm sure that's what he'll claim, whilst accusing me and others that responded as being 'touchy'. Anyway back to the OP, yes deffinately worth a visit, they have another open weekend in September.Originally Posted by swiss pete wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 21:04
Is that across the road from brynteg comp? Sometimes we used to organise a scrap over there if we didn't want the teachers to find out.
Yes, that's it.Originally Posted by nathansfmachine wrote on Sun, 08 March 2015 21:14
