The MB is not an ideal form of communication, because we can't see each other's expressions or hear the tone of our voices. So just like Email our posts can be open to misinterpretation. However, smileys do help a lot in assisting us to express ourselves effectively. But misunderstandings do happen still. I have just been misunderstood in this sense - possibly because I have not been paying enough attention to the way others use Homer. So - to help me, can you tell me what Homer means to you and in what circumstances you use him.

That's why I didn't use it - I'm allergic to antibiotics. Now I would have used Homer here - but am not so sure now. As Wittgenstein said: we can't have a private language. I will have to conform.

Nah - there was Witts one with the Tractatus, then he went back to teaching maths for at least ten years. Then there was Witts two and the work that came to be known as The Philosophical Investigations. I don't think there was a Whits 4 (sorry Freudian slip there).

What? Wittgenstein? I don't know - maybe an allergy was named after him - he is inclined to bring you out in a rash if you read too much of him.
