If we could build a team around the likes of Marshall,Manga, Fabio, Peltier, Pilkington etc.., with good young players like Ralls , who I thought was excellent today, Adeyemi, Moore, Doyle, Malone, Kennedy, Adayemi, Mason, John and then some experience from Whittingham, Gunnerson, Turner etc... with a few new additions we might develop into a decent side.
The Loan fee plus the wages saved can go towards balancing the books for FFP sooner rather than later.

It certainly sounds as if Slade and Trollope are gradually getting it right and it's encouraging to hear that the work ethic is improving too.

Slade was given a hospital pass when he took the job as there was disillusion off the pitch and he also had to significantly cut the playing budget.

Against that backdrop he's done a reasonable job, hasn't he?

The next challenge will be having to lose more high earners in the summer but still keep the team competitive.

It's a bit perverse but personally I'd far rather see the club build this way rather than sign big ego's on big money.

For the first time in 3-4 years I find myself agreeing completely with what you say 👍

I enjoyed this afternoon for lots of reasons . Thought we were far better than a hapless Birmingham . Fabio has changed my opinion of him as a loose cannon, he has been a revelation over the last couple of games. Kenwyne had a fine game as did Ralls . Gunnarson my pet hate didnt do to badly but glad to see him going off.

I agree with most of your points Tim but he is the only striker we have who has got into double figures for goals, without his contribution we would be in a right mess. I would not play him for rest of season as I am pretty sure he won't be with us next year.

I also reckon Doyle could get a few given a decent run with the right players around him

He's been overplayed, probably had as many minutes this season as the last 5 seasons put together
unfortunately as we have no idea if Slade will be manager next year it's a bit of a conundrum. If Russell is going to be in charge, then he surely should be looking to play what he believes will be hi best front 2 for next year it's a shame that Revell got injured...but I am sure he will surprise us with his team selections as always.

    Noone was disappointing too.
I have a feeling Slade will be here at least until Christmas and in a bizarre way I'm quite intrigued as to what will happen in the summer.
