Slade's best players are all at other clubs.Originally Posted by ken smith wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 09:49

Best ignored as he clearly has nothing else to do but comment on a team and a set of fans he no longer cares about ( allegedly)Originally Posted by ken smith wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 09:49
The nail is hit firmly on the head there.Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 10:13
Jimmy Floyd would be a good shout.
As long as its not Dave Jones I think id be happy with just about anyone instead of Slade.
He hasn't got a frigging clue.Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sat, 18 April 2015 22:29
However, a couple of months ago he made it clear why he wasn't interested in the Cardiff job and I just cannot believe that he is the only manager of his type out there who thinks like that - I'm convinced that the pool of realistic targets available to us in the event of Slade going is smaller than it should be because of the reputation our owner has as somebody who interferes in footballing matters (it doesn't have to be true, the perception that it is is damaging enough).Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 07:25
Be honest Tim, what did you expect?Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 07:25
What about the other Carl Robinson? The Welsh international at the Whitecaps.
The actual answer is that any manager will have only a tiny percent chance of succeeding while working with our off the field structure and debt.
Paul Lambert ?Originally Posted by surge wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 11:01
Er'a one eye'd monkey from Grangetown would do a better job than Slade.Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sat, 18 April 2015 22:29
Warburton at Brentford is a decent shout.
We have to be realistic about who would want to come to our circus of a club .
Way too soon for Bellamy IMHO.
As far as I am concerned it would be Nigel Adkins ,failing that Brian McDermott, with Phill Brown worth considering if those two were unavailable.
After all the massive effort and input by all and sundry since Sam walked in to the club in July 2000,I feel disappointed that all the new generation fans that came on board over this period are been left to become uninterested ,resulting in a landslide reduction in season ticket sales .
It is getting pretty obvious that the fans are loosing the desire to be involved ,it is much easier to reignite a failing fire than to rebuild from scratch. The club should look to create more charisma and feeling to the to the whole system ,not forgetting that, for the fans, it starts and ends on the field of play.
I would hope that we have very few players in this close season,as I do not believe they will be as good as what we already have,if Slade is still to be there come August he will have 3 months or so to get it right in his own way, failing that he could be gone, leaving the incoming manager to reshape the playing staff and style of play ,which I feel is the main cause of dismay among the fans, especially the lack of creativity.
Jimmy Floyd for me.Originally Posted by spartacys wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 12:00
Just pointing out that Slade has had a bit of a raw deal. Where is your top scorer? What about that defender he played every week? And just how can Cardiff afford to keep sacking managers? Slade is cheap, does what he is told, and knows how to do average. With the company losing customers in droves, it is possibly the best they can do in these circumstances. How can he motivate players when the club threw in the towel 6 weeks ago? I think you have all just had a glimpse of the next decade, and it won't be pretty. The manager is a symptom of Cardiff City's problems, not the cause. Just a subjective view from a neutral.Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 10:13
I think it would be better to let your husband post.Originally Posted by Croesy Blue wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 10:16
Lambert and McDermott are good shouts.
I thinkMcDermott would give it a crack.
Lambert may hold out for better
Surprised Warburton hasn't been linked with more jobs. He would be the ideal replacement IMO.Originally Posted by Lawnmower wrote on Sun, 19 April 2015 12:46
Is not Warburton earmarked for the Q.P.R. job.
How about one from this list
Mark Warburton
Craig Bellamy
Karl Robinson
Nigel Adkins
Paul Lambert
Jimmy Floyd
Eddie Newton
But lets be honest, Tan isn't really interested in having a manager that the fans can relate to, he had that in Malky and hated it
Most of the names listed are probably much of a muchness, a lot of qualified managers seem to be. Give most of them a decent squad and they'll be alright; in other circumstances they'll struggle, but we need someone to build something and to give them the time to do so.
I go for Mr potato head

Managing Burton isn't enough kudos to be in contention for a team who hopes to be a premiership tem.
