FESTIVAL OF SPORT 2015 WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

This Saturday, April 25th, Cardiff City Football Club will be hosting its inaugural 'Festival of Sport' running in conjunction with the Bluebirds' final 2014/15 home Sky Bet Championship fixture against Blackpool.

The FREE event is being held as a 'thank you' to those who supported Cardiff City's Foundation Day earlier in the spring and, of course, the Football Club over the course of the 2014/15 campaign.

    FREE, YOU SAY?

Yes. The Cardiff City Festival of Sport will begin at midday on Saturday and run throughout the course of the match-day afternoon. All aspects of the day, including participation events, are FREE to those with a valid match-day ticket for Cardiff City versus Blackpool. There are no catches this is a 'thank you', on us.

    TELL ME MORE...

The heart of the 2015 Festival of Sport will be set in the away supporter car park and at the rear of the Peter's Pies Family Stand at Cardiff City Stadium.

Those of you looking for a touch of exuberance and wild abandon can enjoy the CCS Funfair, courtesy of Norman Sayers Amusements while those who are inclined for a bit of friendly competition can venture towards the CCS Celebrity Sports Stations.

CELEBRITY SPORTS STATIONS? WHAT ARE THEY AND CAN I WIN ANYTHING?

Yes, you certainly can! Five CCS Celebrity Sports Stations, hosted and co-ordinated by the Football Club's award-winning Community & Education Foundation Staff, will allow competitors of all ages the opportunity to try out a multitude of sports that they may not have tried before. These include cricket, basketball and climbing (as well as football) and we'll have a host of Cardiff City Senior and U21 players on hand to chat to you about the new activities, prior to the 3pm City v Blackpool kick-off.

Even more exciting is the fact that in the build-up to kick-off, Foundation Staff will be keeping their eyes peeled for the best parent/guardian & child combination (Bluebirds Combo) to represent their specific stations on the CCS pitch at half time. A simple challenge at this stage in front of the live CCS crowd - will give one lucky Bluebirds Combo the chance to head to the players' dressing room area post-match to meet their heroes! Cue the selfies and autographs!

BUT I WON'T GET THERE EARLY ENOUGH TO HIT THE SPORTS STATIONS!

No sweat. Throughout the week, Cardiff City supporters are encouraged to nominate themselves for the half-time pitch challenge by using Cardiff City social media channels (Facebook & Twitter) to post a Bluebirds Combo selfie. So, that means a selfie of a junior Bluebird with his or her parent/guardian in City colours of course! Use the #BluebirdsSport hashtag when you post your pic channels are now OPEN!

SOUNDS FUN. ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW?

You've got the basics but there'll be a lot more on offer throughout the day to keep you and your youngsters entertained. Cardiff City Football Club are welcoming 'Street Depot' on site to highlight new catering alternatives for the 2015/16 season you'll find them situated near the sports stations at the back of the Family Stand. We've got music covered too, with a number of special guests on hand to entertain you.

And remember this is a Cardiff City 'thank you' and a chance to experience things you may not have previously experienced in the build-up to a normal match-day. We're confident you'll have a great time and we won't be pestering you for your pounds and pennies.

For more information on the event, please emailfitc@cardiffcityfc.org.uk. Further updates will be posted via the official site throughout the week, and through the club's official social network channels -@CardiffCityFC(Twitter) and facebook.com/CardiffCityFC remember those Bluebirds Combo selfies!

Funnily enough this was considered , but unfortunately the league rules insist on the match taking pplace . Both teams have been approached on this matterand it has been decided that this part of the day will be called the dire comedy 90 . This we feel will keep things within the theme of the day and should not distract many from the positive experience .

The amount of poor quality football, bizarre tactics, home losses etc etc that we have had to endure this season , it's a shame like, like the previous post says, that we have to endure 90 minutes of 'nothing' football again

It's got a 0 0 or BlackPool away win written all over it.

Moscow state circus coming next week - lets hope Slade and a few other run away with it
