Some massive eggs on faces tonight

Labour vote collapses. UKIP surge to third on the popular vote. Conservatives win seats they haven't held for 32 years like the Gower. Conservatives now have 11 MPs. What happened to left wing Wales?

This is a riot. Let's hear the excuses.

Very happy to see Esther McVey, Simon Hughes, David Laws and Jim Murphy all get the boot. Still hanging on for Danny Alexander to go and hoping to see Farage be dissapointed.

Alexander is a goner. Cable a goner. Dougie Alexander a goner. I think Farage is too. But the real big catch of the day will be Ed Balls. One of the most hated men in British politics could be decapitated tonight. Come here fishy, chew the hook

I'm not so sure on Balls, they've been teasing us with that all night. I hope so though.

We still have the South, Midlands, South East and West Country to come yet. I hear South West/Somerset Lib Dems are being annihilated. The South and South East will obviously stay blue so this could start turning into a 330-340 hiding here.

Be interesting to see if the slimy George Galloway re-invents himself, and where.

    Labour vote collapses.
It is undeniably a disaster for labour, but their share of the vote has actually increased from 2010 - and that increase is a greater increase than the increase in the tory vote (albeit with some safe tory seats to come).

The people with the biggest eggs on the biggest faces are the pollsters who've got their predictions so way off the mark for the last 6 weeks.

That's not to pretend that this is anything other than a right royal battering for Labour - in terms of a public rout, it's comparable to Germany taking the piss out of Brazil at the last world cup. But they did increase their share of the vote by more than the Tories did. Of course, all of this was funded by the Lib Dems giving away all of their votes and the biggest beneficiaries were the SNP and UKIP, by some distance.
