chickens come home to roost for Lib Dems

painted themselves as left of Labour in 2010 election and then went and formed a government with the Tory party. This was a betrayal of their voters and would not be forgotten.

To then see them try and paint themselves as in between Lab and Con for this election showed them up as a party willing to paint themselves as whatever seems best at election time to try and get votes.

    they are finished

Sometimes parties are too far apart to form a coalition. My argument is that many of the Lib Dem new voters in 2010 thought that was the case at that time. The party had painted themselves left of Labour. I agree with Nick etc.

If you remember one of the main attacks on Nick was that he was arrogant enough to believe he was the king maker, the lib dems simply handed that responsibility over to the public and went with whatever the public wanted.

    No, no they didn't.
The public overwhelmingly voted for left of centre politics in 2010. This can be seen by adding together the percentage share of votes for Labour and Liberal Democrats. So the Lib Dems did not "simply hand over that responsibility over to the public and went with whatever the public wanted"
