Thread: Javi Guerra

    Javi Guerra

2 goals v Sevilla in a 3-2 defeat, he's had a good finish to the season.

Mats Moller Daehli's Freiburg got relegated though, a painful 18 months at club level for him.

Daehli has hardly featured for them - fitness issues perhaps.

Not only did he clearly not want to be here at City - so had to go - but he is currently too lightweight and wasn't up to the demands of Championship football. There is a talent there and he may come good in time, I hope he does, but the hype is far more than the reality at present.

Just read an Norwegian article translated which suggests Daehli has had constant knee problems since leaving City. He has been back in Norway for a while having rehab and is ruled out of their Euro game next month.

Good news for us I guess.
Guerra's future is clearly not with us and we need to move him on due to his wages, so these goals will make him more attractive to another buyer in Spain.

What a shame it went wrong for him here. What 'might have been' .......

I don't think it's fair to say Daehli clearly didn't want to be here.

I have always felt that many of Ole's signings did so because he was manager and the appointment of Russell Slade was anything but an incentive for them to stay.

On the subject of Ole's signings, Guido Burgstaller got the winner for Nurnberg today, his 6th goal in 14 games for them. Berget got his 7th in 10 games for Malmo (with an assist from Eikrem).

I said at the time that it was a mistake to sign him up on a long contract - particularly as it was only weeks after they released that embarrassing Cornelius statement.

We might not have given a 32 year old (one that has barely stepped outside of Spain even on his holidays) a three year contract on mega wages
    Nail on the head!!

Meant to mention Kevin Theophile-Catherine too. He ended up playing 31 league games for St Etienne (only one outfielder played more) as they finished in 5th place, two points behind Monaco for the final Champions league spot. A guy in work played football in the school playground with KTC which passes as interesting in my world.
