    Office annoyances

    Impromptu meetings in the kitchen

    Impromptu meetings in doorways

I'm in our canteen right now trying to eat my cheese and ham cob while a loud forklift truck license tester from the West Country talks at me, pretty sure he's on something, I can see me decking him and walking out.

When someone brings in their leftovers from the previous nights cooked dinner (or similar) and warms it up in the microwave which normally stinks the place out and then they proceed to chow down on their foul mess at their desk.

Not a fan of hot lunches myself.

People who arrive at work only to spend the next half hour eating breakfast at their desk.

Which is why I sit down at my desk, check my emails and then go to the canteen for breakfast.

People putting their stuff on my desk when in an open-plan environment. I currently sit in between two other people and there is no visible deliniation between my desk space and that of my neighbours. The current lot are OK, but in the past I've had people trying to encroach and shift their phones and stuff on to my side of the invisible-but-nevertheless-well-understood line.

People just walking away when the printer breaks and just using another one. Who do you think is going to fix it, shithead? Everyone has a meeting to get to, you aren't special. And if you can't follow the instructions to fix the paper jam, you probably shouldn't be employed here.

People booking rooms and not using them.

People from other offices who, when working from our office for the day, think they need/deserve a meeting room. Just sit at a desk like everyone else.

    Re: Office annoyances

Most of the annoyances I had have been "TUPE"'d away...

    Including

A lady who spent more time looking at the leave chart and booking leave than she did work. The rest of the time was spent talking about forthcoming holidays, or talking about holidays just past.

Two guys who spent the day watching IPL cricket - one of which was on 30% more than anyone else

A manager who kept top projects for his golden boy, didn't pass any information on and blamed others for not reading any e-mails he had never sent. He worked from home half of the week, and was completely uncontactable when at home. He was also unable to connect to the company network remotely, but was still allowed to work from home.

Another guy who walked into the office 10:15, had 2 hour lunches, and was constantly in credit on his flexi chart.

Another guy who, on more than one occasion, took credit for work I had done whilst I was absent.

The good thing about all this is a) they have now all left and b) I only had to endure it for a couple of hours anyway.

The girls in my office when making my tea put the milk in first then the hot water meaning I have to wait ages for the tea bag to do its job. Teabag, water then milk at the end. Not rocket science. I should dock their wages for time wasting.

Then if I fancy a coffee they put the milk in after the water which basically means a shit coffee. Infuriating.

If they didn't have big tits and short skirts they'd be goners.

I really enjoy my office to be honest. No negatives that I can think of.
