You want to get rid of Joe Mason?
And you prefer Stuart O'Keefe to Gunnar?
And you are one of the people who don't rate '4 times promoted' Matthew Connolly?
Sorry - I disagree on all 3.

With the additions of Joe Ledley and Fraser Campbell on a yearly long loan I think we would have a decent team to challenge for promotion. Also get rid of the rest not in the squad below Thoughts?

Simon Moore
Bruno Manga
Ben Turner
Sean Morrison
Semi Ajayi
Scott Malone
Lee Petlier
Fabio De Silva
Kagisho Dikgacoi
Joe Ledley

Only keep 3 fullbacks at the club?
Maybe if we could persuade Bellamy out of retirement that may help . Or we could look forward and try to find players that we need rather than who we know .
Once youre IN here, it seems youre in for life. I can see this board waxing lyrical about a 47 year old Whittingham, struggling in vain as the new goalkeeper.Originally Posted by 1927_Bluebird wrote on Wed, 19 August 2015 14:30
City do not play to the strengths of a striker.
Two problems:
1. City do not have a proper striker (well they do but he is going on loan somewhere in Spain), and
2. in any event City have no person capable of passing the ball in for a striker to run onto.
The last time I can recall one was Jordan Mutch to Frazier Campbell v Man Utd.
The much maligned Steven Mcphail played several per game towards Michael Chopra. The said Chopra netted many goals from such deliveries.
I yearn for a return of the days when the City played the type of attacking football under David Jones.
Keep Macheda
We have not seen that for 4 and a bit years now.Originally Posted by Cretin Hop wrote on Wed, 19 August 2015 15:34

Why do you bother writing out all this absolute rubbishOriginally Posted by The Penguin wrote on Wed, 19 August 2015 16:12
Campbell ?
As I've said many times he will almost score goals.
Sorry but no thank you.
Yeah, the Campbell love surprises me a bit, does work hard but not at all clinical in terms of finishing.
He's no more than we've currently got.
I've been a huge fan of Whitts over the years but I do think that, for me, for the first time, he wouldn't be in my first XI.
I'd far prefer to see Ralls centrally with KG allowing for two true wide players, my choice would be Pilkington and Noone on current form.
Ledley would be a solid addition and would improve our midfield, he could play alongside KG, Ralls or even O'Keefe who I don't think we've seen the best of as yet.
Up front probably go with Jones and Mason at this point, with a run of games Doyle could find his goal scoring form though and Macheda can finish but does little else.
Spot on with DJ,we did enjoy some tremendous attacking football , great skills/goals in his forward line ups .Originally Posted by ★☆★☆★☆ wrote on Wed, 19 August 2015 16:42
Apart from Man City couldn't hit a 'barn door from 5 yards' not for me sorryOriginally Posted by The Penguin wrote on Wed, 19 August 2015 15:18
I think a lot of people have forgotten the contribution that Campbell made in the second half of the 2012/13 season. He is a class striker in this division.
I'd take Ledley and Campbell over what we've got now, IF they were available at Championship wages.
In short: Champ players on Champ wages NOT Prem players on Prem wages.

We have a decent midfield and defence but lack a cutting edge.
I love Marshall, but if we can get close on 5 million for him i'd sell him in a heartbeat as that is big money for a keeper and we have 2 able deputies.
If we could get Campbell for less than 2 million, that would be great business as he did a good job for us at this level and seemed to like it here.
As for Ledley, my Cardiff and Wales head says yes, but not sure he would add much to our midfield.
Given our clear budget constraints though, I think Campbell would be a great signing as he is proven at this level and this club
Judging by the amount of views this thread's got, I'd say the title got people's hopes up.
