My mum is in her 70's and she worked for Sherman's Pools on St Mary Street in the 50's or 60's and she used to hear it referred to as Chippy Alley. My old man says he's always heard it called both Chippy Lane and Chippy Alley.

I never heard Chippy Alley until recently, I've always heard it called Chippy Lane.
