He has encouraged more people to take an interest, and become involved, in politics than anyone I can think of for a number of years. He seems to appeal to quite a broad church of people. I think he could be the shot in the arm that mainstream politics needs. Nice to see people voting for someone they believe in rather than the person that gives them the best chance of winning regardless of policy.
With so many apparently protest voting in the general election because of a percieved lack of any choice, it'll be interesting to see how this affects the UKIP vote.

Potentially, but they need to get core voters back onside. If they carried on as Tory Lite they would continue to haemorrhage voters.
