Felt sorry for half time Wayne yesterday, but it did prove that something needed to be done. Can't remember much about who was doing the announcing for the Wolves game, but, thinking back, the person who did the Wimbledon match wasn't too bad.

I still think the fact that Ali is not doing the job any more is down to one person who barely attends games these days.

Likewise I can't remember anything about the guy who did the Wolves game- which to be fair is probably about as good a compliment as you can give a stadium announcer.

I note from his twitter profile that Johncock calls himself a Spurs fan. Disappointed they couldn't find a City supporter who was up to the job. Also disappointed he didn't do announcements in Welsh at the Wolves game. Did a decent job other than that.

Best bit of that, was Louis Spence squaring up to Shane Williams.

Glad they finally made a decision. Yesterday was amateurish and embarrassing, thankfully only 13,750 people were there to listen to the pair of announcers struggle.

Surely when it came to Liz Bowen they could have tested how she would have sounded on the tannoy, no offence to the woman but any higher pitched voice male or female does not work well with a tannoy system. Her voice was piercing and she made a hash out of Dikgacoi's name, pronouncing it as 'dic-ag-oo-ee'. Do some research at least and write out how you say names phonetically, does not take that much homework to perfect.

As for the later announcer, the lack of teamsheet knowledge was ridiculous when Joe Mason was announced as the first goalscorer before correcting to Anthony Pilkington after some jibes from the fans. Then I am pretty certain that Joe was referred to as John Mason when he got subbed, and also you had the sub announcement for Huddersfield, number 8 leaving the field for number 18. Everything delivered with hesitation, it was just poor, simply poor.

Least they have made their decision with competent announcers but Ali is still a cut above.
