Winning a war is far too strong a political action for many Labour MP's to leave it to the Tories and too much for Tory MP's to leave to UKIP.
After bombing in Iraq and France, Russia, America and Turkish military action in Syria, why aren't ISIS already defeated if the answer was as simple as more bombs?
The ideal outcome from my armchair-General's perspective would be France, Russia and Iran teaming up to go in with a serious ground force to obliterate IS. Would limit the anti-west propaganda fall out that we had with Iraq and Afghanistan that has partly fuelled this situation by radicalising young disenfranchised Muslims in those countries. And by having one of the region's behemoths (let's face it, Iran hate IS more than most) heavily involved, there would be an air of legitimacy that has been conspicuously absent in the last 14 years of action in the Middle East. Would also ease Tehran into the international community which could be a priceless bi-product.
2 points to remember today:
i) Nelson Mandela was described as a terrorist by a Tory Prime Minister
ii) Too often we lose freedoms after a politician saying "terrorist, rapist, paedophile. Oh my!"
There may be very good and sound reasoning behind Cameron's desire to expand our bombing but the rhetoric of those most eager should make you think again, whether you change your mind or not.
