Keep checking flight prices, they are always higher in school holidays, scheduled airlines like BA and Virgin, and some of the U.S. a airlines end up cheaper than charter flights with Thomson etc. downside is they fly from Gatwick/Manxhester/Birmingham but they do go to a proper airport, Orlando, not Sanford.

We've done it a few times via a package from 'Travel City Direct' (going again in 3 weeks as it happens).

Direct flights from Gatwick to Orlando International, a villa, and car hire.

They always seem to be amongst the cheapest, but we've never tried in school holidays so no idea how much their prices rise for those weeks.

Take your kids the cheapest time of year, when you get fined for taking your kids out of school pay it and you'll still save money.

are you stuck for the summer holidays ? ? ? as In Oct 1/2 term, you have the festival of food and wine at epcot, as you are all adults, that might appeal to you, you could do a 10 trip ( our school has 10 days off for that 1/2 term, not sure if your will )

Im not sure the family would go out of Summer hols - I think they are fixed on then

It's incredibly hot if you want to go in the summer holidays. Standing around in queues is not much fun even though Disney provide free water and sprays to stop people from overheating. The best time to go if you are restricted to school holidays (as I was for many years) is Easter.

Move to Scotland. Summer holidays start two weeks earlier. Move to Perthshire and you'll get two weeks October holiday.
