Well, that's ballsed up my Sunday AM

Left this morning thinking 'wouldn't mind watching the cricket'.
Fully expecting us to get a tuning and the cricket to build up today.

So tomorrow would be watching the cricket get exciting and avoiding the footy reports..

    Just goes to show 😉

Don't despair; Australia/India ODI and New Zealand/Pakistan T20 will fill the void slightly...

Still can't wrap my head around it, first time we've won a test series overseas since India in 2012...

fantastic bowling by england, broad has unplayable spells from time to time, young side apart from jimmy and broady with a bright future

Once again, England win a session that completely changes the match as they did in the Ashes last summer.

This is a great England side to watch. Lots of really exciting young players. Not the polished complete side but that it makes it more fun!

not sure about Hales but the rest look pretty settled, plenty of bowling cover and Stokes gives the side real balance as he can change a game with bat or ball, modern day Botham and highlights how important Kallis was to the proteas

With both Stokes, Ali and Bairstow in the lower order there is cover for top order failure.

I was gonna say the attention will be towards Broad and Root, but Stokes' knock in the first innings really changed the way the match was going. Gave the Saffer seamers something to think about and once again they didn't really have an answer for him and it helped Root crack on. I still can't envisage him shaking off his 'feast or famine' persona but with his fielding abilities England have a hell of an all-rounder at their disposal. Hate using words like 'passion' but the lad is always fired up and gives it his all, with his entertainment appeal he's a poster boy for the kids as well.

Going forward it's the case of an opener and decent spinner; with the former I see Hales opening through the summer period and the latter we're still going to spend a long time having players live in the shadow of Swann/Panesar who were once in a generation kind of players.

Also need to address the collapsing issue, it's dogged us for absolute ions where were 34-3 or 72-4 and often relying on Cook or Root to bail us out.

Id give Hales time, Warner was seen as a T20 specialist and not a lot more, but the Aussies stuck with him and let him play his natural game.
agree, he needs time, just saying its the one position thats in any doubt at the moment, Taylor has taken his chance and so has Bairstow, exciting times for english cricket

Amazingly Broad had now taken 5 wickets in a single bowling spell 7 times
