They are under an embargo aren't they?

Relegated with us after making the biggest loss in the Premier League in 13/14, it seems to me that they spent as much on one player as we did overall in the summer of 2014. True, their gates have held up better after relegation than ours, but the only explanation I can think of is that they've proved to be more adept at getting expensive players completely off their books than we have.

What I can't understand is why QPR are not under an embargo? I know they had a fine, but the last I heard they were contesting it, or they paid far less than the original fine.
QPR were in the prem so got clobbered with a fine rather than an embargo I thinkOriginally Posted by Mario Miethig wrote on Mon, 18 January 2016 09:27
Must have missed it with it being so close to Christmas, but I think a lot of the hacks reporting on City's embargo must have as well because I've not seen them mentioned in their stories - Blackburn, Forest and Bolton get talked about, but I've not seen anything on Fulham.

Pretty soon there won't be a club in the Championship who will be able to sign players!
IIRC, Fulham were complaining that Cardiff got the values of certain players written down in the Prem season thus saving us from a transfer embargo.
Perhaps it only delayed it.
tbf, I think that eclipses Steve R's 'mareOriginally Posted by Michael Morris wrote on Mon, 18 January 2016 12:13
In fairness if you look at the date of that post I reckon Bob had just been on the sherry a bit early.Originally Posted by TH63 wrote on Mon, 18 January 2016 12:56

Taxi for bilbo bobbins
It has to be a flounce, there is no other way out of this.
Flouncing is like going into admin. Take it on the chin, have a few years in the doldrums recovering and if you're lucky you might get back to where you were, but in a stronger position.

If only! Mind you, I had drunk my only pint of beer of 2015 the day before - that and a glass of Champagne on Christmas Day were the only alcoholic drinks I had all year.Originally Posted by TruBlue wrote on Mon, 18 January 2016 12:58
Thank goodness we invested in training facilities and youth rather than players who were barely here then.Originally Posted by cardiff55 wrote on Mon, 18 January 2016 12:24
