Thankfully, hardly anyone will be offended because hardly anyone reads the threads on this forum, largely due to the fact that your behaviour is so retarded.
Anything would be better than a long night of your inane ramblings feedy

maybe I'm a little thick and therefore should apply for a job in the public sector, but I really can't work out what message you're trying to convey with your keyboard mash

maybe I am a little more than thick, do you reckon I'd make it in the civil service?

I have no idea whether you'd make it in the civil service. I doubt that they'd tolerate your incessant trolling of internet forums.

Re: The best and brightest in society

A guy goes to whitehall to apply for a job.
The interviewer asks him, "Are you allergic to anything?"
He replies, "Yes, caffeine. I can't drink coffee."
"OK, have you ever been in the military service?"
"Yes," he says, "I was in Afghanistan for one tour."
The interviewer says, "That will give you 5 extra points toward employment."
Then he asks, "Are you disabled in any way?"
The guy says, "Yes. A bomb exploded near me and I lost both my testicles.
The interviewer grimaces and then says, "Okay. You've got enough points for me to hire you right now."
"Our normal hours are from 8 am to 4 pm. You can start tomorrow at 10 am and plan on starting at 10 am every day."
The guy is puzzled and asks, "If the work hours are from 8 am to 4 pm, why don't you want me here until 10 am?"
"This is a civil service job," the interviewer says. "For the first two hours, we just stand around drinking coffee and scratching our balls. So no point in your coming in for that."

When I said it wasn't a joke I was inferring that sort of behaviour actually goes on in the civil service. Im sure it doesn't but I will freely admit I was taking the piss.

According to this report today the nations top graduates are of the impression that to make a difference in this world they need to work in investment banking, accounting or law with graduates giving the public sector a wide swerve.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Cipfa is a specialised qualification for those working for the public sector or providing assurance services to the public sector. It's not much use outside of that.

That's crap I'm afraid. I know a number of cipfa accountants who have transferred easily into the private sector

Just because a few have transferred doesn't mean the majority are geared up for a results based approach to business. Having worked in the public sector on a secondment my professional opinion is that whilst technically competent, they were no more than that. I'm only going off what I saw, and that is they had very little commercial nous.

I'm sure you do. the number of cipfa in industry or practice is remarkably small compared to the overall number.
There are more accountants in the UK than in the rest of the EU put together. Why?
