Good luck to the lad was a decent club man ,deserved better, think he may make a good manager with the right club, not sure that one is Leeds, there barmy.

If he takes that job that must prove he lacks judgement. He could and should hold out for something must better than working for a Chairman who sacks managers at will.

Ah just some info , Leeds are on a different lunar calendar than the rest of UK. Their fans actually think Evans was there for 5 years, sort of a nethendral caveman, star gazing thing going on up north ,and a lot of grunting.

Agree with the comments. He was a decent manager at Swansea and simply got into a results rut (which many do) and Hugh got rid.
Unfortunately, with a number of managerial faces out of work, was unlikely to get an offer from the premiership.

With a chairman more of a loon than tan poor old Gary will be on borrowed time after 6 games.

I heard a bit of chatter, about dressing room issues, certain players wife, and a director and the player having to go out out on loan as a result ,Monk caught between a rock and hard place over it , no proof just chatter?

I'm pretty sure that it was nothing to do with the Swansea connection, but, for me, Monk came over as one of the least impressive managers interviewed in this superb book

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Living-Volc...ct_top?ie=UTF8

I thought there was an arrogance and a sense that he thought he had "cracked" the job in his first year at the Liberty which made what happened to him subsequently less of a surprise.

Every time he was interviewed after a game on MOTD, he seemed if he was on the verge of a heart attack/breakdown.

Nothing was ever an Abertawe Town's player fault.

And (NSASWA), remember, he stated he would reprimand his own players if they dived/cheated, (how will this go down with the weeds scum)

    Man is an egoistical t**t.

Leeds have had 6 managers since Jack Wilshere last completed 90 minutes of football

    Keep looking for employment

I suppose you know in your heart of hearts your own level.
Could it be that GM wonders whether he had what it takes to wait for a "better" position (struggling Prem side early in the season) and panicked.
Or perhaps he has huge confidence in his own ability to do what Chris has predicted and lead them back to glory?
Even though Leeds are a massive club, in fact one of the top clubs in the whole of Yorkshire, he will be under huge pressure from day 1 from their ruthless chairman. Just hope if it's the former, he lasts until we play 'em.

Never liked Monk (probably because he played for and managed Swansea... oh and possibly because of his ginger eyelashes!) nor dirty Leeds so double the spice when we play them this season. Quiye possibly the next best thing to playing the Jacks, especially when he starts recruiting the has beens/unfavoured!

Might be worth waiting a few days to see who really wrote it. I would love it to be true, but.....

I just tried googling for some old (not deleted) tweets and they also didn't come up, so I'm not sure his investigations prove anything either way.

He was not a good manager at Swansea. He re united their changing room after Laudrup - saw an upturn in results then split the changing room his own way.

They are the joke of British football. Ultimately they were not as big as they thought they were lived behond their means and destroyed themselves.
