Foreign Secretary speaks out on behalf of the little guy

Great to see the foreign secretary showing an interest in legal proceedings against an individual in this country, who says that this government don't care about the individual?

Directly criticising a judge's ruling as well might be highly unusual, but at least it shows who's priorities this government puts first without any doubt.

Lets see the lefties on here worm their way out of this one...

I never thought I'd say it, but well done on the Tory FS for standing up for that poor, poor man.

    This quote says it all:

About 22,000 people are entitled to diplomatic immunity in Britain – this includes diplomats and their families. Last month the high court ruled that one of the world’s richest men – Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, the former prime minister of Qatar – could not be sued in London over claims that agents acting on his behalf falsely imprisoned and tortured a British citizen, because he is protected by diplomatic immunity.

In that case, Hammond’s deputy, James Duddridge, said that “it is ultimately for the court to decide whether a foreign diplomat in the UK enjoys immunity in any particular case”.

Exactly, we have an independent judiciary in this country, except for when judgements go against Saudi billionaires.

Well that quote from Duddridge came back to slap him in the face, didn't it?
