Wales 4-2 France : Ched Evans hattrick

Who was there in 2007? I was, in the Grandstand at NP, on an absolutely perishing night. I was sat near some French guys who apparently knew Younes Kaboul and kept shouting to him, Dai Hunt-style, throughout the first half.

We outfought a French team which comprised, amongst others, Payet, Digard, Remy, Marveaux and Gouffran. I left that night feeling that the next ten years would see a resurgence in Welsh international football.

What a shame that our big moment is going to happen without one of those young stars.

Not the best pictures, but still worth a look - Ched Evans was playing in the third tier at the time of his conviction, so I'm not sure how his career would have panned out, but, given the problems we've had in his position in the last seven or eight years, I think there's every chance that he would have been close to his fiftieth Welsh cap by now.

I feel more sorry for Collison if I'm honest.

I feel more for Collinson because none of his problems are his fault.

However from a Welsh perspective I think Ched is a much bugger miss. Given our other options I would say it is highly likely he would have been leading the line in the Euros if it wasnt for his conviction.

Collinson on the other hand would be battling with Ramsey, Ledley, Allan, at al in the middle

Collison was a tremendous prospect. He has endured some horrible times in a professional and private capacity. I would loved to have seen him in the Euro Finals.
