But they might not get anything passed. Would look pretty bad acting arrogant like that and get your budget rejected...

Yeah she isn't exactly the smartest cookie in the jar.

The look on Carwyns face as the result was announced was utterly priceless.

He is obviously not a cookie worthy of putting in the jar.

    According to the BBC earlier:

"AMs have 28 days following the election to decide on a first minister, which would mean a deadline of 2 June.

If there is no agreement, the UK government's Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns can call a fresh election."

I think this is something I'd like to see, simply based on the comedy of outrage it would cause.

Shirley, you cannot be suggesting that Labour don'y need to appeal to the public, because they are the automatic choice?
Shouldn't they have appealed to the public more in order not to come to this impasse, rather than sitting on their arses and expecting to win almost by divine right?

Totally disagree. Labour dont have a divine right to any vote. Just look in Scotland. Why after 17 years in Government are Labour still by far the largest party? They are an easy target with a record to defend. Why are Plaid doing so poorly compared to their Scottish nationalist counterparts?
Great move by Wood. Vote Plaid get UKIP

It would actually be interesting, probably the worst possible outcome for Plaid so I guess they will posture for a little while and then fall at Labours feel while claiming some kind of victory.

    I would Leanne Wood, NQAT.

Although I am reliably informed she has a fanny like a yawning donkey

No problem with PR but it needs to be at Westminster as well.

Oh. It would just be another FM vote. I'll just get this :coat:

I think FPTP is outdated. If you look at Westminster the combined Lab/Con vote is going down Election after Election. British politics is much more fractured these days and our current electoral system does not represent that.

I am guessing there will be another vote - it is up to AM's who they vote for
Yes thank you for that. I'm well aware of what the vote was about.

But if you're first minister then without support your ministry will fall very quickly. Even if Leane had won the vote today it'd have fallen apart within days as UKIP and Tories wouldn't support any of her policies and Labour would vote them down out of bloody mindedness.

****ing get Neil Hamilton in as leader, bung him a couple of quid in a brown paper envelope in queen Street station and you get your problem heard down the bay.

Plus we can go back to the good ol days where we blamed everything on the blacks.

so they'd rather play politics than do what's best for wales?

? Labour arrogance has slowed the process down. Had they agreed to work with plaid, they'd be in government now. Things have become a lot harder for them. I think the only way they're gonna get in now is to promise STV

The problem here is that none of us know what demands Plaid made of Labour.

You continue to mention Labour "arrogance" but ignore the arrogance of a party that have less than half of the seats Labour won - Leanne Wood is acting as if her party won the election! Before you point out the obvious, I know Labour didn't either.

My guess is that the stumbling block will be the M4 relief road and I cannot see Plaid backing down from their stance that the blue route should get the go ahead.

Equally there are probable difficulties over Plaids policy on one health board for Wales and the resurrection of the WDA. I'd like to think that both parties could compromise over these but who knows.

I think you're right here. A possible change in electoral system could also be a block to pass. Labour would hate this as it would lead to them losing seats. This is what I personally think Plaid should hold out for.
