    Whit Sunday Today

    Any other old buggers on here remember the Whit weekends of old? Whitsun Treats in fields all over Cardiff, Nazareth House Fete for us Rock Cakes at Blackweir on Whit Monday, big sporting occasion for Catholic schools, very competitive. Good old days indeed

    I can remember going on the back of a lorry from Rumney to some field full of cow-pats for the day down Marshfield way

    We used to go all the way to Culverhouse Cross from Fairwater sat on church pews on the back of a Brains lorry,it seemed like we went to the back of beyond.Gorged on jam buns and lemonade,we had a great time.

    Great days, had my first bit of "OUTSIDE TOP" on one of these trips.

    Everyone just wore t shirts in the school colours with your school number pinned on, no. 16 St Albans if memory serves. St liltyds were the green and gold blazer with cricket whites and white daps brigade at Corpus Christi.

    Why did the Corpus Christi marches etc stop?
