What we need is for our manager to set us up to go out and beat Russia and not play for a draw and possibly we might even win the group especially where England think Slovakia are just a push over

Looking at the race for best third placed team
Group A
Romania v Albania - Anything other than a Romanian win or a huge Albanian win.
Group C
A heavy Northern Irish defeat to Germany.
Group D
Czech Republic v Turkey - Anything other than a Czech Republic win
Group E
Belgium and Italy to not lose their games to Sweden and Ireland respectively
Group F
Hungary to beat Portugal (would be great to see Ronaldo out before Iceland).

Thanks for that BIS, has saved me spending the day working out the permutations!!!
Yes, it's in our hands and a point should be enough.
Slight disadvantage being the second group to complete. Let's hope we're not biting our finger nails until 10.00pm on Wednesday.
Yep thanks for posting that. I thought your post on this was a like premature last week. Not now. We now know who needs what. Pot E looks our best hope followed by C and then A. We could have done without Northern Ireland scoring a second goal.
Here's another interpretation of how it could go

Group F should be OR not AND.
If Hungary beat Portugal, Portugal are left on 2 points - Iceland 2, Austria 1. If Austria beat Iceland, it will be Hungary 7, Austria 3, Iceland 2, Portugal 2. If Austria and Iceland draw, it is Hungary 7, Iceland 3, Portugal 2, Austria 2. If Iceland win, Hungary 7, Iceland 5, Portugal 2, Austria 2.
So, Group F only requires Hungary to beat Portugal.
Albania are beating Romania at the moment, if that stays the same that'll be one ticked off before we kick a ball.
Yes.

It sounds worse than it is. Two of the changes are obvious - Sturridge and Vardy start. He's changing the fullbacks, but bringing in Clyne and Bertrand who are both very quick and decent enough. Rooney being rested is about the only one to raise any eyebrows.
Not so much a gamble as improving the team, I'm sorry to say.
Don't apologise, it's okay.
