I've got a sneaky feeling more people will admit to voting Remain than they will for Brexit, a bit like the secret Tories in the last election.

The bookies think this is all over with Remain at 1/9 and Leave at 11/2. There are a lot of shy Remain voters in my view and a lot of shouty
outers. This may not be as close as most of us thought.

Student vote at the school I work at had it 51.5% remain/48.5% leave. Roughly 20% didn't vote.
Same school called a Tory win at the election which was surprising for the area.

Being part of a number of weird Facebook groups, it seems the opposite.

Leave posters are more likely to be quiet, whereas Remain posters are more likely to announce that they're voting against Farage & Boris.

    We shall see...

As posted earlier, Mrs Midget conducted part of a local exit poll. Every fourth person was invited to take part. They entered three answers privately on a computer - M/F; age and vote. Between 07.30 and 14.30, 500 people had used the polling station.

    Newcastle 65404 Remain ; 63598 Leave
    50.7%-49.3%

    Bloody close.

Suggesting Leave doing better than expectations.

If 'Leave' win, I think it'll be 51-49.

If Remain win it'll be 52-48.

I can't see the divide being that great.

I've not voted myself because I wasn't sure which way I wanted to vote. I heard good and bad from both sides. Judging by what I've heard off various people I've talked to, the vast majority of them have voted to leave.

    Same here..-ish
But I suspect there may be pockets of strong leave support.

Possibly where you are. Possibly where I am. Maybe not Nationally? TBC ..

    Re: Latest polling

Word on BBC is that some areas are heavily 'remain', others are heavily 'leave'.

    Divided Britain.

96% of Gibraltar voted to Remain.
    No surprise there.
Except what's the motive of the 4% Leavers?

I'm very worried. I don't think will be in the EU in a few hours time.

Newcastle was apparently meant to be close to 60-40 in favour of Remain...

I read earlier that Remain was meant to be 55-45 ahead until about 3am-4am, and then Brexit constituencies were meant to come in en masse, and hopefully close that gap.

    An interesting night ahead!!

You do realise it doesn't work like that.

The referendum is not the decision, it is simply a gauge of what the people want and to advise the government, it has no binding effects.

We'll be leaving the EU if the people vote that way.

Last year after the Conservatives got in by winning more votes than any other party, there were thousands of people on the streets of London demonstrating.

Just imagine the number calling for Cameron's head if the people voted Leave and he didn't allow it...
