The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Trump has just done a u-turn to take up this new position on assault rifles and criminals owning guns. Hilary's position is no different it seems. She won't campaign for a change to the constitution as that would be election suicide.

In real terms, it's hard to see how these minimal changes will have an actual impact on the US.

Bear in mind, in those days "arms" were flintlock rifles, not kalashnikovs
