Well it's definitely not true that your insurance is void if you have no tax. That's one of the more popular urban myths.

Frustrating but what can you do? He likes to sit in them, turn the engine over and listen to the radio
I live in a narrow side street and a cheeky ****er around the corner parks in the street and my neighbor got 3 ****ing cars so I got to try and race home to try and park outside my own house

Just go out and string him up, I did that to my neighbour for the same reason and hey presto, problem solved.

The rest of the street seen me doing it too so now nobody parks outside my house, great it is.

That's correct, your insurance is void if there's no MOT not tax.

Not necessarily true either. From Parkers -

"Driving without an MOT won't always make your insurance invalid. In most instances the insurers will still pay out in full - and if your car is stolen, or damaged, the payout will usually only be reduced to reflect the value of the car without a current MOT.
However, some policies state in the small print that an MOT must be in force.
If you drive on public roads without an MOT there will be a fine if you’re caught by the police, the only exception is if you’re travelling to a pre-booked MOT test, this must be a direct route though, and to your nearest garage that provides the test".

How can you be insured if your car has no legal right to be on the road?

Not necessarily untrue either then is it? Most policies say it's a must.

Most people buy a car to commute etc not to drive off-road so therefore would need a valid MOT.

Simply pull your car up to the car and push it out of the way. Put a pillow between the cars to avoid scratches.

    Problemo solved.

Or get the local smack head to set fire to it for a £10 bag. Hypothetically speaking mind.

The council will be the one's who take it away ( often contracted out )

The Police will only move it if it causing a dangerous obstruction

Now to speed it up, you need to have " fluids " coming from it, then is will become a health / environment hazard

I twittered Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns yesterday to remove the vehicle that's been outside for a year.
He twittered me back within half hour and asked me to DM him details.
    Top man is Alun.

Fair play to him, you would think he'd have more pressing matters. I did my ankle in celebrating Vokes goal against Belgium, so I'm struggling to do much. Anyway I've just emailed him and he's coming round this afternoon to mow my lawn. Top man.

As long as it's not been left in gear or is an automatic left in 'Park'. Otherwise you're laughing. Lots of hand brakes are totally ineffective, especially on older cars.

A car without tax or insurance has been dumped outside my house for the best part of a week now. It's not blocking a drive and its more of an inconvenience really as it's taking up 2 spaces outside the property. Me and the Mrs have quite a walk to bring the kids in / shopping etc. Like i said, more of an inconvenience than anything as they're not residential spaces specifically.

I've tried reporting it to the DVLA, Police and the council and they're all passing the buck. Anyone got any advice or been in a similar situation?

    Thanks in advance.
Get the number of for NSL in Bridgend who are DVLAs agents regarding untaxed cars. They'll gladly pick it up. Haven't worked for them in a while so don't have the number
