    Tonights Twenty Twenty

Can anyone help with the following:

It starts at 1900, what time should we aim to be in there fore decent seats? (two of us)

What time approx should it finish?

    Thanks in advance

Get there half hour before. Probably last 2-3 hours but could be over in one. You can choose your seat as it will be nowhere near capacity.
It'll be a good noisy crowd tho no doubt as it attracts people who have been gagging for a beer all week and have that Friday night feeling.

I'll be there and hopefully our home form.will take a turn for the better, bolstered by our win at Colwyn Bay.

    Enjoy the game

If you haven't been down before you may not be aware that you cannot take booze in there

There will be loads of empty seats even though the Fosters Stand will be closed off. Parking is the big problem with me.
Even if it's a one sided game I can't see it finishing before 9.:30pm. Should be finished at around 10pm or a bit after that if it's a close game.
We have decided to go to the game although am not looking forward to the slow drive from the Cotswolds.

    Re: Tonights Twenty Twenty

opening side could get bowled out in the first 20 mins. the side replying knocks off the runs very quickly.

    Unlikely but could happen

Bowled out in 20 minutes!!! That's like saying Cardiff could win their opening League game 10/0. It ain't happening.

There are two biggish car parks in CANTON and it's only a 10 minute walk.

My remark "over in one" was not meant to be taken literally, just meant to convey that that you can never tell with cricket, especially if you are gearing up for a good drink.
A blink of the eye (again not literally) and the game can be over as a contest.

I did just google some low scores and learned that Holland were dismissed for 39 in 10.3 overs so in theory, with a 20 minute interval, the game could be over in an hour.

    Improbable granted, but possible.
You seem to know your cricket from other postings so you will aknowledge that your analogy is a poor one

Glam need 153 to win, should be possible in less than 20 overs.

    Re: Tonights Twenty Twenty

That was brilliant tonight. We must have had not much short of 10,000 at the game with loads of Euro 16 type chants. The service by the bar staff was about as slow as Shaun Tait in the field. Dear God Shaun you could try an attempt a dive to stop the fours.
    Ingram superb as was Donald.
So we are in the quarter finals but have not quite nailed the home advantage as Middlesex can catch us. One more win should seal it.

MacAdder Not really mate. I can't ever recall a domestic T20 game between two counties being over in an hour. Ever...because it has never happened.

    Re: Tonights Twenty Twenty

Why not bowl Salter on a pitch taking spin? Bizarre again from Rudolph.

Apparently the gate was 7596. Seemed more than that to me.

The ball that Tait bowled Trego with was as good as it gets but he was very Kenwynesque in the field. I think it annoyed the players too, there wasn't a mad rush to congratulate him when he took the catch off Wagg and Wagg himself didn't bother to go over.

All good otherwise but we could do with Cooke back, the tail gets longer by the game. If one of Ingram or Donald had gone early things could have been different but both were superb, as you say. Good for Donald to make some runs on tv, raises his profile even more after Sunday's heroics. Just caught the end of the coverage when I got home but all the stuff I saw was very positive all round. Fully deserved too.

    Re: Tonights Twenty Twenty

You didn't but just very odd that you suggested it could be all over in an hour. Anyway no more from me on this.....

    Re: Tonights Twenty Twenty

Yep totally agree about the tail. Hopefully Cooke will be back for the quarter final and played as a specialist batsman given his back problems. Keep Wallace as opener and keeper and drop Salter who isn't worth playing as Rudolph clearly has no faith in his bowling in this form of the game. It must hack Salter off that Rudolph would rather bowl himself ahead of Salter.

Myself and the Mrs and kids thoroughly enjoyed a warm evening's entertainment there tonight. £5 a ticket each for the kids and there was plenty to see for us all. We started out in the Family Stand (by mistake) and then for the Glammy innings moved to the more boisterous Cathedral Road Stand.

Thought Glammy controlled the match from the toss and was good to see Donald in the flesh.

I also liked the look of that very energetic fielder. Short, furry fella. Darted about the boundaries like a man possessed he did.

I think that would have been David Lloyd. You can get your kids Young Buds memberships for a tenner. It means they can go to all seven home games without having to pay anything more than that tenner. Worth thinking about for next season.

😂Just realised you meant that little squirrel

My daughter thinks it will be there for every game now though :-/ Think I'll keep up the pretence until it wears off!

To defend Tait a bit, I noticed that the outfield didn't look too great after that concert on Sunday and that set me thinking about something I heard Michael Atherton say during yesterday's coverage of the test match. There was a Beyonce concert at Old Trafford last weekend and the commentators were saying that it undoubtedly had effected the outfield in ways which would influence the game. For a start, it had to be watered quite extensively and so there was lush green grass rather than the sort of arid, dry stuff which would encourage reverse swing, but, also because the outfield was similar in some ways to the one at Brisbane where Simon Jones suffered the injury which had such a huge influence on his career - Atherton said that he would have told all of his fast bowlers that he didn't want to see them diving to stop boundaries on a surface like that, perhaps there was something similar said by Jacques Rudolph to Tait?
