Thread: Right Hand, Left Foot

    Right Hand, Left Foot

Just realised from looking at Bale playing golf that he is right-handed. Is this normal for a left footer?

My grandson is left footed, writes with his left hand and bats right handed at cricket

I'm left footed but right handed for everything except eating

    Re: Right Hand, Left Foot

I am left handed, but right footed.
I would also use a right handed golf club and bat right handed

    Re: Right Hand, Left Foot

Bale signs autographs with his right hand, too - so he deffo right-handed rather than just adopting a right-handed stance for golf. I naively thought left handers were naturally likely to be left footers.

I was going to do a poll on this but I f*cked it up.

I once clubbed a bat with my right hand and batted for my club with my left club foot.

    Dunno.

I'm right footed but left handed (except I write with my right hand).

    Indeed. Same here.

It's a common phenomenon known as cross lateralism.

    Re: Right Hand, Left Foot

I'm left handed and left footed.
Playing cricket I bowl left handed but bat right handed, but playing baseball I bat left handed and bowl right handed (fooked up I know).
Racket sports are also fooked up for me because when I play tennis I serve left handed but when I play badminton and squash I serve right handed.
Playing football I'm very much 2 footed. I can take free kicks, corners and penalties with either foot, it really doesn't matter.
If I play in goals I kick the ball out of my hands with my right foot. The only difference is I get more power with my left foot.
It always amazes me that so many premiership footballers can't use their swinger. Santi Cazorla is a one off. He's probably the best two footed player I've ever seen play the game.

I've often wondered about this - like you I assumed (never a good thing) that left footed players would be left handed. Interesting that some here bat right handed and play golf left handed or write left handed.

There is a lot of research corelating cross lateralism with mental illness. Using different hands for different things is not evolutions way. The world is predominantly right handed due to language being a function of the left hemisphere of the brain.

    Re: Right Hand, Left Foot

I'm left handed but sometimes use my right for knocking one out so it feels like someone else is doing it.

    Hope this helps.
