104-8 another poor batting effort I'm afraid, but the authorities tend to take a dim view of pitches on which spinners take as many early wickets as they have in this game and so I wouldn't be surprised to see Northants docked points when the game finishes.

It was turning square last night, and for an 18 year old spinner who was picked for mainly for his batting to take 5 wickets was always a concern.

Northants batted first to get runs off the seamers opening burst.

122-9 now. Rob Keogh has never taken five wickets in an innings in his life before today - he's got eight in the moment

Yep when a rookie spinner has such a dramatic effect on day one then there has to be a big concern about the state of the pitch. Clearly Northants have to be questioned here. Sadly this is going to be another defeat.

Given Northants are 168/2 in their second innings it does not appear that there are too many demons to this pitch. Another rank bad day. Glad to see the back of the season.

Always keep us guessing don't they!
My enthusiasm for the game next week has waned a little

It's just disappointing. Northants will now finish above us I reckon so it's a race to finish bottom with Derbyshire. We do have some good youngsters but they are going to be inconsistent which is fair enough. The more senior players are not leading by example though.

If you are going next week I hope the Sun shines and they play better cricket than this.

Glammy "chasing" 450 to win young Carlson didn't take any wickets in their second innings but he did run out Keough (sp) their newly turned wonder spin bowler, who opened the bowling for them in our second innings,0-0 so far.

Now a mediocre minor county side. Rudolph has underperformed and embarrassing to say the least. So different to the Tony Lewis years with the likes of Alan Jones, Majid Khan.

You can draw parallels with CCFC 1970's v now.

What are the management going to do as frankly nobody wants to watch the current rubbish. T20 v Yorks was so disappointing ☹️

I was thinking the other day of former overseas players the other day, what a team we could have made with just one of them alongside our former homegrown stars.
Imagine Don Sheperd bowling on today's wicket

I see Rudolph is not in the team for today's match with Gloucestershire - latest score 41-1 after being put into bat by Gloucs.

It was claimed just before teh start of play that Rudolph was injured, i dont think Carlson who is his replacement was in the original match squad.

    Re: GLAMMY

Fair enough, but I hope he gets a chance in our last couple of matches to show that he's a better player than his performances indicate this season - I know last season wasn't brilliant for him, but I don't think anyone saw what's happened with him this year coming.

It'll probably be short and sweet, but Donald is on 33 after facing eighteen balls, while Selman has got some welcome runs - he's seventy four off ninety balls and Glamorgan are 130-3 just before lunch.

    Re: GLAMMY

Talk about the nervous nineties. Selman has been on 98 now 99 for about 25 minutes!! I'm nervous anyway!

    Re: GLAMMY

Finally got his hundred and then bowled the next ball - 172-6 and it's down to the latter order to give us a good total yet again.

101 now. Well done young man. Great to see him notch another century after a pretty lean spell. Argh just saw TOBW post.

Another pathetic, tame surrender looming, Macheda just threw his wkt away going for a six, we're not in a run chase

    Re: GLAMMY

Surprised to see Rudolph saying on the Glamorgan website that he wants another quick bowler signed up for next season, when it's been clear for the last few years that the batting, particularly in the top order, is not good enough.

Yes, Cooke and Ingram have been missing for most of the time, but, certainly in the four day game last season, they were as inconsistent as anyone - all of the younger batsmen used have had their ups and downs which is to expected, but what shouldn't be is that only one of the more experienced specialist batsmen (Will Bragg) has had what could be called a reasonable season in the Championship.

All out now, Gloucester need 90 to win.
