    Goals, goals, goals

In the last 4 seasons we've seen 1 player score more than 10 league goals - Kenny Jones.

Always going to be tough if that's the case.

Where are the goals going to come from this season?

Kenwynne Jones did not score for 2 months but Slade struggled and ultimately failed to replace him, until Pilkington popped up his hand.

What was slade supposed to do there was a transfer embargo imposed because of the way the club was being run

Sign someone in the two windows while he was at Cardiff when we weren't under an embargo?

£750,000 to spend on Eoin Doyle. Surely that money could have gone further if Slade was willing to back himself and sign a lower league striker with greater potential.

Easier said than done - especially when the club had already blown millions on another striker from Denmark leaving him with the task of cutting costs and keeping the team competitive. To outsiders, Slade achieved as much as could be expected.

Who? Doyle WAS a lower league striker and top scorer in his division. Maybe Slade should have looked to Denmark for a striker after Watt was sent back because the club ran out of money.

But to insiders it was the most mind numbingly boring two seasons of football in the history of the club.

If only Slade's team was as dynamic and attack minded as Mackay's was.

You're in no place to comment cos you didn't have to endure it. At least Malky had a system of play that looked like it belonged to the championship. If you saw our football before Trollope came on board then it was far more akin to Sunday league football than that of the championship.
(PS we even took rugby kick offs!)

Yes, Doyle was a striker that lead goal-scoring charts by such a margin that he was still top a month or two after having left the league. However, that means every 5 year old child could have picked him out as "one with potential" and yet it was pretty obvious as soon as he got here that he either didn't fit us or didn't fit the league. There are surely other strikers who wouldn't have fallen into that bracket.

Fans have hindsight - managers don't. In terms of disastrous signings, Doyle is not in the same league as some signed over the previous 24 months.
