If I remember rightly it was against Blackpool home in the league that he broke his leg?

Won one, drawn one lost one. That's what you call "Slading". Charlton are on their way to a solid 60 points. Before anyone asks, they'll lose the odd game. It will be a hard game. Between two teams that wanted to win. But Russ's team will lose. Because THAT'S how you Slade.

2 points off a play-off spot, can't fault his consistency.

Slade orchestrates a 2 - 1 win at Walsall which sees Charlton move into a play-off spot.

    Yipeeee.

How did they play? Who was your man of the match? Have you managed to speak to Slade yet? How's he feeling?

Maybe this year after 20 odd years as a manager he might get a sniff of promotion, but then again...

Cmon NYC get with it. Common knowledge that if Slade gets three points on a Saturday he treats the family to a Chinese meal.
Off season when he's back in Scarborough it's a fish and chip supper, sitting on his favourite deck chair, with a handkerchief covering his big, bald, burning head.

They've spent the most money in League 1 so automatics or failure.

He was quick enough to point out how he was up against it when he was at Orient, and 3rd place and a play off final defeat was still success (even though they led the table for 7 months ffs) because of the budget but now the shoe is on the other foot.

    Automatics or failure Russ.

He's been diagnosed as to being allergic to promotion. Symptoms are talking nonsense, wearing a tracksuit, losing your hair and putting on weight.

How come I've got these symptoms if I've never been anywhere close to promotion?

The right midfielder (myself) had to play full back as well whilst the right back was man marking the centre forward because the two centre halfs had no pace.

Master tactician Slade secures a well earned point against the league leaders.
