He's better than Zahore by a mile, but that's not hard really is it.

    Re: Gounongbe

He had one chance and he was very unlucky with it.
Jury is out on him but he done well with that chance

    Disagree.
He missed the target having got into a good position and good first touch. Should have scored or at the very minimum worked the keeper.
Didn't see the game but did see some of extra time.

Hopefully one will come then he will kick on.

Tbf he hit the inside of the post and it went straight to the keeper bit unlucky imo

How is his build up play? Does he track back etc.

I've only seen highlights of games but he looks terrible

He has potential, looked lively has a bit of pace , very unlucky when the ball came back off the post .

I thought Zahore looked a bit overweight and tended to lumber around the pitch.

We need a sharp centre forward. (Tony Watts? )Rovers would have been dead and buried had we had a decent option up front.

As the game progressed it looked like whoever got the first goal was going to win , Rovers started to get a wee bit of belief and the luck was with them on the night and we stopped valuing the basics.

Have to agree with Jimmy here. We desperately need a pacey striker,

thought we looked better when Pilkington came on and he was most likely to score, Gounongbe showed some nice touches but did seem to wander out of position at times but he wasnt the only one.

cant beleive Wales online gave Morrison man of the match, Declan John was the only player to get forward and put crosses in. Richards was doing a Petier and not pushing forward although O'keefe didnt give him any support. Lots to work on in the system but Witts, Immers and Pilkington make such a difference to the team when they play

    Re: Gounongbe

I think we need to be a bit patient tbh, strikers need a run of games to build confidence. Unlike ALF and Macheda, at least he wants to be here

Declan ? Can't remember him beating his man or putting in a DECENT cross , Connolly was our best man going forward by a mile and he's a centre back

Dec beat his man on a few occasions and put in at least 2 great balls that would've been put away had we had a decent striker Connolly lost the ball everytime he got in rovers half and putting himself out of position

    Re: Gounongbe

felt sorry for Connolly as every time he brought the ball out of defence, our midfield and strikers just watched and offer no options and he ended up with no pass available. llanedeyrn blue did you real miss the cross Declan put in, the one when O'keefe mishit at the front post and then fred headed it over the bar was a peach.

To be honest Zahore being signed in the summer surprised me.
He did nothing last season to signal any real worth.

Two games in - one rusty league, one rag-bag cup, and people have made up their minds?

Give him a chance, different country, different language and different league if you have to move to a new job it takes time to settle in, never mind moving to a whole new set of challenges.

He is are main target man until we move 4-5 players off the wage bill, only time will tell if he is good enough but at present he is all we have.

Zahore looked very ponderous and lethargic, and won't be anything other than an impact player on last nights showing, and like Noone.Moore and Gunnerasson failed to take advantage of the opportunity

The time to judge Gournongbe will be after 6-10 games

    Re: Gounongbe

John benefitted from having Ralls down his side, they linked well. The rest of the midfield were unable to hit a pass in front of a player.

As for Fred, the header miss was worse, however he looked far more lively than Zohore and let's not forget they both had shockingly bad service.

Zohore did , by the way make one superb run down the right hand side leading to a weak shot, but at least showed a bit of pace.

Early days for both of them here yet
